    1. How to clean DesignaSize off a rubber stamp?

DesignaSize - Cleaning a Rubber Stamp
Best choice is to try to clean the stamp immediately after using DesignaSize. Use warm soap and water.
Second best if the DesignaSize has started to dry. Use a toothbrush or small brush this will help remove the gold leaf adhesive. I have used a tooth pick too to clean out fine details when the size has dried in them. This will depend on the stamp and you must be careful not to damage your stamp. If the glue is not being removed easy please refer to “Oops I waited too long to clean the stamp” below.

Another option is to use a hand wipe this can be done when water is not available. The quick drying of wipe will let you use the stamp sooner after cleaning. Some wipes also have a small amount of alcohol in them and this helps remove the glue and the stamp to dry faster. When using water you will need to wait for the water to dry. One way to speed up the drying of the water is to use a hair dryer on low to dry your stamps. Don’t use your embossing heat tool as this may heat the stamp too much and cause damage to it.

    3. How to remove DesignaSize that has dried on your stamp?

Oops I waited too long to clean the stamp. This can happen.
What to do when this happens? Don’t worry your best stamp will not become a hockey puck. I have done this at trade shows after using a stamp all day long it has been put away only to sit for a few days. When this happens I will put my stamp in a tray with a small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol or Denatured Alcohol. I only want the printing edge of the stamp in the alcohol. Don’t sink your stamp or cover it with alcohol, just a thin amount covering the bottom of the tin. Your stamp is glued to the wood block and we don’t want to have any effect on this glue. Once in I let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. The alcohol will loosen the gold leaf size and make it easy to remove. The tooth brush and tooth pick will help here too. If the DesignaSize is not easy to remove let it sit it the alcohol longer.

Other options might be nail polish remover if no alcohol is available. Having never used this I would suggest that you test before using. We don’t want to damage the stamp just remove the gold leaf size. The best practices is to clean your stamps before the glue dries but having been there done that we also need a way to remove the glue after the fact. I have always been able to save a stamp with the above mentioned practices (except nail polish remover I don’t have any) and being careful when I do this.
